In order for effective learning to take place, students must practice. While oboe lessons are supplemental to in school programs, I will be assigning etudes that need their own at-home practice. Just 15 minutes a day will make a world of difference! Students will be asked to keep a journal for their practicing. Entries will consist of a few sentences about their practice session and general thoughts about their playing (with an emphasis on positive reflection).
Reeds
Students must have two new reeds each month (though preferably more). Reeds are the bane of our existence, and to sound good, we need to have decent reeds (parents, you will thank me). As a teacher, I sell my reeds but can also make adjustments to students' reeds from other vendors.
Cancellation Policy
Payment in full will be charged for any lesson that is cancelled within 24 hours of the lesson time. This fee will not count as a credit towards a make-up lesson.
